Unfortunately, only the escape shuttle's small parachute opened and it hit the ground at too high a speed. This fatal accident ended the Starbuster program.

The Foxbat, unlike the Blackbird, had 4 air-to-air missiles, making it an interceptor rather than a reconnaissance aircraft.
